Outreach and Salesloft alternative without per-seat pricing

By Cryptool|September 7, 2026|Product

Outreach and Salesloft are the enterprise end of this category, and they are built for a specific customer: a sales organisation with managers, quotas, ramping reps and a revenue operations function. Priced per seat with annual commitments and usually an implementation, they make sense at that scale. They make very little sense for a five person team raising a round. Reach covers the sequencing, pipeline and follow-up for free with a Cryptool account.

What they do well

Genuinely a lot, and none of it is fluff at their target size. Conversation intelligence that records and analyses calls, forecasting and deal health scoring, coaching workflows for managers reviewing rep activity, deep bidirectional Salesforce sync, and governance features a large organisation needs. If you have twenty reps and a VP of Sales, these are the right tools and Reach is not competing for that buyer.

Why small teams look elsewhere

Cost is priced per seat per year, and the useful configuration usually needs onboarding help. Beyond cost, most of the platform assumes a shape you do not have: there is no manager coaching a rep, no forecast to roll up, no quota to attribute. A founder emailing forty investors is doing something structurally different from a sales floor working inbound leads, even though both are technically sequences.

What Reach covers

The sequencing, in full. Sixteen steps across email, LinkedIn, calls, SMS and manual tasks, five A/B versions per step with the winner flagged, conditions on reply, open and click, and wait-steps that hold a follow-up until someone engages with a timeout you control.

The pipeline. Prospects with stages, conversations, tasks and notes, and custom fields you declare yourself which then appear on the form, in the import template, and as merge tags in campaigns.

The intelligence, as editable agents. Research producing a brief, an angle and a fit score with its confidence marked. A call debrief that turns a transcript into a summary, objections, an updated stage and a dated follow-up. A warm intro mapper across your imported network. A pitch deck builder and data room planner that leave missing numbers as placeholders rather than inventing them.

The deliverability. Your own mailboxes with rotation, daily limits, warm-up and a test send from each, plus verification by syntax, MX and SMTP probe running continuously and enforced before any first send.

Inbound and booking. Lead forms, Meta and Google lead ads and WhatsApp or SMS feed the same pipeline, answered within seconds, qualified against criteria you write, and able to book into a real calendar.

No seats. It is free with a Cryptool account, and capacity comes from the mailboxes you connect.

Choosing between them

If you manage a sales team and need forecasting, call coaching and Salesforce as the system of record, buy Outreach or Salesloft. If you are a small team running a raise, a partnership push or early sales, and you want the sequencing and pipeline without a per-seat contract, Reach does that at no cost. The dividing line is whether you are managing sellers or doing the selling.

Common questions

Does Reach have conversation intelligence or call recording?

No. It has a call debrief agent that turns a transcript you paste in into a summary, objections and a next step, but it does not record or transcribe calls itself.

Does it sync with Salesforce?

No native Salesforce sync. There are webhooks and API tokens for building your own integration. If Salesforce is your system of record, the enterprise platforms are a much better fit.

Is there forecasting or quota management?

No. Reach has a pipeline with stages, not a revenue forecasting layer, because it is not built for managing a sales floor.

How many people can use it?

There is no per-seat charge. Workspaces have members and roles, and your sending capacity is the sum of your connected mailboxes' daily limits.
